That said, a considerable amount of time and energy goes into producing content for the site, which is difficult to find as someone with a full-time job and young family. Then there’s site hosting to consider, which isn’t much, but everything adds up.
Setting up a hard paywall would defeat one of the aims of the site. I could set up free or subscription tiers but again I’d rather not segregate the readership. Having the site plastered with advertising or sponsorship isn’t a route I’m interested in currently either.
Value for value
Which is why you can support The Rugby League Eye Test using the value for value model. What is value for value? The readers determine the worth of the content on this site. You can share the value you’ve received form reading the site, whatever that is. $1, $5, $50, or any amount of your favourite cryptocurrency through the links below.
You set the contribution level based on how much you get from the site. If you don’t find any value in the site, then the responsibility falls on me for finding the right content that provides value you don’t have to contribute anything.
If you find value from the site but don’t have the means to donate, you can support the site in other ways through commenting, sharing, or providing feedback. Value does not always mean a financial contribution and every contribution is appreciated.
That’s it. No tricks, no hidden paywalls, no tiered content. You determine what the content is worth on this site.

How much $$ would you need to monetize this work and get it more mainstream?
More than I currently earn in my actual job, so not likely in the short term. Doesn’t cost anything to share it though, which helps widen the audience.
I have discovered a magical number. I call it HLAW (Home Losses Away Wins).
As the season progresses a team scores a point for an away win and loses a point for a home loss.
It is highly unusual for a team to make the 8 with a value of zero or less at the end of the season. Furthermore, if a team, at any stage of the season hits -3 they won’t make the top 8. -2 counts them out of the top 4.
It’s aninteresting number and I was wondering if your stats could take it a tad further ????
